Rather than uploading video files directly to Blackboard or Canvas, it is recommended to upload your video to a media server. Then you can link your video to Blackboard or Canvas from the media server. Two recommended servers are Echo 360 (Blackboard or Canvas) and Canvas Studio (only Canvas). Follow the steps below to upload your video files to either.
Echo 360
To add your own videos to the Echo 360 Library, follow these steps:
- Go to https://echo360.org and log in with your UML credentials
- From the top menu, select Create and then Upload Media
- A pop-up window will allow you to add files from your computer or other online locations
Canvas Studio
To add your own videos to the Canvas Studio, follow these steps:
- Log in to Canvas
- From the global menu (far left), select the Canvas Studio icon (looks like a TV)
- Select Create, Add Media, then Browse Files
- Locate and select the video. After a few moments of processing, it will be added to your Canvas Studio Library
The next step is to link videos to your course.
