Verba Collect

The timely adoption of course materials (i.e., required textbooks, software, etc..) helps our students by ensuring the most cost-effective choices are available. Late textbook adoptions may mean that only new materials, and thus most costly, are available. Textbooks/materials for a course do not roll-over each term, so instructors must enter materials before every term, even if you have used the same materials in a prior semester.

Textbook orders can be placed each semester by accessing Verba Collect.  You will need your uml.edu email address to login.  New faculty will not have their email created until 1-2 weeks before the term starts, once their employment contract is active.  If you are a new faculty member, please contact Dante_Hebert@uml.edu directly to submit or inquire about your textbook order. If you have not submitted your textbook order for the upcoming semester, please do so right away by accessing Verba Collect.

If you are using Open Educational Resources (OER), free resources, or you do not require course materials, please still select your open courses in the bookstore portal and respond “no” when asked if you need to add materials to this adoption. This will let the bookstore and students know that they will not need to order/purchase course materials. Questions about textbooks and adopting materials should go to your Department Chair or bookstore@uml.edu.

An instructional webpage is available with resources guiding you through this process.

Still have questions? Contact Dante_Hebert@uml.edu.

A few notes and reminders about textbooks:

  • Faculty must submit your textbook information to the bookstore each semester you teach, even if you are using the same book from a prior term.
  • If you do not use a textbook in your course, please notify the bookstore so that they are aware when inquiries are made by students.
  • Please be sure that any materials selected are ADA compliant (i.e, videos are captioned, audio files have transcripts, images have alt-text, etc.)
